<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he alleged that the government-created poverty has been forcing the farmers and various sections of the society to end their lives and the toll will rise if the MFCs are allowed to continue. He alleged that many people are opting for suicide because of the harassment of the agents of MFCs that are charging not less than 50 per cent interest rate like private moneylenders.</font><br />
<br />
<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">He maintained that the MFCs have been targeting poor depending on fishing and agriculture work. &ldquo;Unable to repay the loans and exorbitant interest rates charged by the MFCs, borrowers are committing suicides. Murder cases should be filed against the agents of MFCs since they are totally responsible for the suicides. CPI will launch an agitation if the government fails to ban the MFCs immediately,&rdquo; Mr Narayana asserted.</font><br />

<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">Referring to the sanction of permission to produce 24,000 MW in and around Krishnapatnam port, he said that the projects will be a serious threat to the environment. He said that officials concerned have submitted false information to licensing agencies to enable the promoters of the projects to obtain licenses without any hassles.</font><br />
<br />
<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">Pointing to the requirement of 12,000 MW by 2012 and 16,000 MW by 2015 to the state, he questioned the rationale behind giving permission to produce 44,000 MW in different parts of the state including Nellore.</font><br />
<br />
<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">He said that they have advised the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, to hold an all-party meet to discuss about the mushrooming of power projects in the coastal areas. He alleged that the CM is in favour of industries and postponing the meeting under the pretext of ill health even while signing files related to new sanctions.</font><br />
<br />
<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">Referring to police firing during their agitation at Sompeta against allotment of fertile land for industrial use, he said that the state cabinet in a recent meeting has suggested the police to use rubber bullets against those agitating against power projects or industries.</font><br />

<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he alleged that the government-created poverty has been forcing the farmers and various sections of the society to end their lives and the toll will rise if the MFCs are allowed to continue. He alleged that many people are opting for suicide because of the harassment of the agents of MFCs that are charging not less than 50 per cent interest rate like private moneylenders.</font><br />

<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">He maintained that the MFCs have been targeting poor depending on fishing and agriculture work. &ldquo;Unable to repay the loans and exorbitant interest rates charged by the MFCs, borrowers are committing suicides. Murder cases should be filed against the agents of MFCs since they are totally responsible for the suicides. CPI will launch an agitation if the government fails to ban the MFCs immediately,&rdquo; Mr Narayana asserted.</font><br />

<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">Referring to the sanction of permission to produce 24,000 MW in and around Krishnapatnam port, he said that the projects will be a serious threat to the environment. He said that officials concerned have submitted false information to licensing agencies to enable the promoters of the projects to obtain licenses without any hassles.</font><br />

<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">Pointing to the requirement of 12,000 MW by 2012 and 16,000 MW by 2015 to the state, he questioned the rationale behind giving permission to produce 44,000 MW in different parts of the state including Nellore.</font><br />

<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">He said that they have advised the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, to hold an all-party meet to discuss about the mushrooming of power projects in the coastal areas. He alleged that the CM is in favour of industries and postponing the meeting under the pretext of ill health even while signing files related to new sanctions.</font><br />

<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3">Referring to police firing during their agitation at Sompeta against allotment of fertile land for industrial use, he said that the state cabinet in a recent meeting has suggested the police to use rubber bullets against those agitating against power projects or industries.</font><br />
