The CSO recently released the data pertaining to the growth rate of India’s GDP for the financial year 2015-16. As per the data, the economy grew at the rate of 7.6% in the last year while in the last three months of the financial year (i.e. Jan to Mar), it grew at 7.9%, beating even China’s growth rate of 6.7%. While these figures are bringing optimism, there are economists and international organisations that doubt this figure and are questioning its calculation methodology.

In this episode of Sarokaar, the issues surrounding the latest GDP growth rate data have been explored.
